[ Alberto's eyes go big. Even for how many gifts he's gotten from all the Madrigals alone over time, he's still surprised every time. It always leaves him verklempt, too, overcome with emotion and gratitude as a reminder for just how much his life has changed in the past year... He accepts it looking rather stunned, examining the label quietly, but then launches himself into a tight hug with his arms around her neck. ]

[ When he pulls back, he's grinning ear-to-ear, a soft, tender smile he can't swallow, not his usual smug smirk. That act gets dropped so easily in the presence of just about anyone in this family. He's worn more real smiles here in La Casa Madrigal than anywhere else, possibly — except for his apartment with Luca, of course. He fiddles with the tag again, admiring it (and smitten cuz he learned about Christmas in Spanish class, so feels very much in the know and secure in his human-ing knowledge right now), but doesn't move to open the gift. Just looks back up to her with a more resolved smile. ]
